Tempestt

Tempestt Adams is Assistant Professor of Curriculum & Instruction at Appalachian State University.  She teaches a wide range of courses including Curriculum in Career and Technical Education, Business Communications, and Adult Learning Theory. Her research interests include teacher preparation, college and career readiness, and career and technical education. Currently she is interested in exploring creative research outlets including art-based methods and autoethnography.

As a member of the Creativity Collaborative, Tempestt is working on uncovering her “inner artist.” A true art novice, she most enjoys collaging and gelli prints. Her favorite prompts to get started include “one word” prompts and black out poems. Most often you might find her combining her art journaling with her scripture reading. Tempestt’s favorite aspect of visual journaling is how it allows her to process her feelings, a very necessary form of self care. Because of this, she is interested in finding ways to connect with communities in need via art and envisioning its possibilities in classrooms.
