Theresa

Theresa Redmond is Associate Professor of Media Studies at Appalachian State University. Her scholarly teaching agenda represents a hybrid focus on the complex intersections between multiple professional fields including: communications, media literacy, educational technology, curriculum design, and the arts. Across these areas, she seeks to unravel stories about how media and communications technologies impact teaching, learning, literacy, creativity, and expression.

As a member of the Creativity Collaborative, Theresa is interested in creativity and community care experiences in higher education for students, faculty, and staff alike. Her roots as an artist intersect with her scholarship through a/r/tography as she seeks to learn how making cultivates meaningful and authentic contexts for enacting literacy practices. She enjoys working with mixed media, especially additive monoprinting, acrylic, and collage with contemporary and vintage ephemera.
